An Italian minimalist designer kitchen
This kitchen was installed in an existing house where a full-width extension of about 4 metres was built. Because the kitchen is prominent, we used a number of aesthetic eye-catchers. For instance, the worktop is 6 millimetres thick and floating all around. The cabinets are 270 centimetres high with one-piece doors. The outer doors each protrude 15 centimetres, with a vertical light strip behind them, shining beautifully on the wooden panel wall.
To make the existing house and the extension more unified, a conscious decision was made to place the island across the boundary of both spaces. This also extended the panel wall. The huge extension had made the house wonderfully spacious with an open character. The downside of this is that there is little distinction between the different rooms. This is where we used our latest asset. By installing an 'Unlimited shelving unit' as a room divider, we created a separation between the front and the back of the house. As a result, the study and the kitchen are still well connected, yet separated.
So this kitchen uses several unique components in one design.
What are the features
Below is a brief list of the materials used and details.
Materials
The fronts of the sink and kitchen island have a plastic top coat in Agata Grey. The cabinet wall is finished in Super Matt Black Grey.
Cooker
The 4-zone induction hob is from Miele and has an integrated extractor.
Built-in appliances
All built-in appliances, except the Quooker, are by Miele.
Worksheet
The worktop is by Modulnova and is by Kerlite in the Piasentina Senda finish. The sink, from Franke's Mythos range, is flush-mounted.
What's special about this kitchen
The 'Unlimited shelving unit' has been used as a room divider. It subtly divides the front and rear of the house. The extension of the 'Wall panelling' from the lower to the higher part accentuates the difference in height and reinforces the tall shelving unit protruding forward.
